The '09 Argentine was the best military Mauser made as the hinged floor plate was added thereby setting a new standard.
US arms makers thought the Mauser design was so good that the 1903 Springfield and the pre-64 Winchester were basically copies and a lawsuit was filed/won citing patent infringement...which the Germans won.
This rifle (29" barrel) is the 27th rifle ever produced, S/# A0027 and in collectible condition with all #s match except stock/cleaning rod. (#E0190)
This historic rifle fires the revolutionary Belgian/Argentine Mauser cartridge; 7.65x53... the 308 Win of its day
It sports a 2000 Meter sight as standard equipment.
also included:
-6 boxes Commercial PPU ammo
-RCBS reloading dies
-functional 1891 brass handled Bayonet
-partial cleaning kit
-Mil-surp ammo pouches
If you find an early 1909 in better condition, it will be in a museum or in a General’s collection and likely at more than double the price…if available at all.
There are signs of use and flaws but nothing to keep it from being the centerpiece of you Mauser collection. -import marked SAMCO FL under barrel -chromed bolt likely for parade, ceremony
Price is OBO... I/m open to interesting trades; AR10, old Browning, Sako, Colt, Garand/M1A, or High-end optics.
